I’m running for Council because I believe that the City of Ashland needs new leadership.
I own two businesses in Ashland, and in the past four years I've had the opportunity to talk with the people of Ashland and listen to their issues and suggestions about what’s working and what’s not working. We have an unsustainable budget, poor fiscal management, the wrong priorities in place, and a lack of clear vision for our future.
I will spend my time as a councilor by clamping down on wasteful spending and adopt a priority based spending budget. I have signed the pledge from ACES promising to adhere to strong fiscal management. I will focus on capital improvement projects that bring a return on investment for citizens. I will fight to lower utility fees, property taxes, and development fees. I will support existing businesses by reducing red tape and fees so they can expand and create more jobs. I will take public input seriously and implement suggestions from our budget committee.
I’m invested, both socially and economically, and I’m ready to contribute my expertise in finance and management to take Ashland in a new direction.
