An Evening for Justice – September 18, 2025

Windsor Square • 6:30 PM

On September 18, join us in a Windsor Square backyard for an intimate evening in support of CARECEN's immigration lawyers, the dedicated advocates who fight every day to protect immigrant communities in Los Angeles and beyond.

Founded in 1983 by Salvadoran refugees, CARECEN has spent four decades providing comprehensive immigration legal services, from asylum cases to removal defense.

Today, their legal team faces unprecedented demand as newly arrived asylum seekers and longtime residents navigate an increasingly complex immigration landscape.

Your gift tonight will directly strengthen CARECEN's ability to provide urgent legal representation in three critical areas:

  • Defending Unaccompanied Children – Recent federal cuts have eliminated funding that allowed CARECEN to represent children facing immigration judges alone. Your support ensures these vulnerable youth have skilled legal advocacy in court.
  • Protecting College Students' Futures – CARECEN provides legal assistance to students at eight Cal State and community college campuses, helping them maintain their status and stay on track to achieve their educational goals.
  • Upholding Due Process During Enforcement Actions – When community members face detention in immigration enforcement operations, CARECEN ensures they receive fair hearings and access to comprehensive legal defense.

Throughout the evening, you'll hear from members of CARECEN's legal team and learn about our comprehensive approach to immigrant justice — from complex asylum cases to citizenship applications. These stories illuminate both the challenges facing the community and the transformative power of skilled legal representation.
