Climate Action RI (350.org/ri) has endorsed more than 60 candidates in the September 13, 2022 Democratic primary election in Rhode Island.
This week, we are fundraising for 5 climate champions. Donate on this page and your contribution will automatically be divided among them:
- Nellie Gorbea for Governor. Gorbea's climate plan is detailed, strong, and integrated into her entire policy agenda. She is at a fundraising disadvantage with respect to incumbent governor McKee, who's slightly leading in the polls, and the third-place Foulkes. Our support can help Gorbea pull out a win.
- Giona Picheco in House District 14 (Cranston, Providence). Giona supports common-sense progressive policies and environmental protections, while her opponent, the incumbent DINO Charlene Lima, voted against the landmark Act On Climate.
- Victoria Gu in Senate District 38 (Charlestown, S. Kingstown, Westerly). An exciting candidate, Gu heads Charlestown’s Climate Resiliency Commission and is running an environmentally focused campaign.
- Alex Kithes in House District 49 (Woonsocket). Former City Councilman and CARI leader Kithes is a passionate fighter for a revitalized, sustainable Woonsocket.
- Cherie Cruz in House District 58 (Pawtucket). Offering a progressive upgrade in her district, Cruz plans to rein in transportation pollution, upgrade the power grid, and fight for green jobs.
