My Mom and I bought our home in Petworth in 2011. Five years later, my Mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Throughout her illness, I was my Mom's primary caretaker and I learned many lessons about empathy, caretaking, and the system around long-term and elder care issues in DC. My dedication to this neighborhood and its growth has never wavered, and I have been active in community engagement activities over the past decade. You may have even sampled some of my signature Greek Baklava at a neighborhood event. As your ANC Commissioner, I will be available to you 24/7 and am committed to being the bridge between newer arrivals to our community and neighbors who have lived here for generations. Some of the issues I would like to tackle with, include cleaning up our alleys, coordinating with city officials to finalize Lorenzo Park’s renovations, and relaying fact-based updates on the COVID-19 response in ANC 4D-04. I am also passionate about building community with my neighbors and will be hosting quarterly “Baklava Chats” to serve as a sounding board for everyone.
I look forward to, with your votes and support, showing up for all neighbors in ANC 4D-04! PLEASE SUPPORT MY CAMPAIGN WITH A DONATION SO THAT I CAN SERVE YOU AS ANC COMMISSIONER TO THE BEST NEIGHBORHOOD IN DC!
