Immigrants in Virginia need our support.
In our community and across the country, detention and deportation are on the rise — separating families, dehumanizing vulnerable individuals, and trampling on human rights and due process. Many people being held in ICE detention are eligible for bond, but lack the funds to pay for their freedom, which can cost anywhere from $2,000 – $15,000. Detention for any length of time separates families, forces people into cruel and inhumane conditions, increases the likelihood of self-deportation, and makes it harder for immigrants to meet with their attorneys and pursue legal status.
Together, we can help them.
Central Virginia Community Support Fund raises money for individuals and families facing separation and legal uncertainty. Currently, funds raised are being used to cover bond payments for Virginians held in ICE detention.
Thanks to the generosity of donors in the community, since May, the Fund has paid bonds totalling over $50,000 to free nine individuals held in ICE detention facilities in Virginia and elsewhere. There are many more people awaiting our support and solidarity. Please consider a contribution and help us spread the word so we may continue to meet the increasing need for immigrant bonds in our region.

CIFF operated from 2019–2023 and was instrumental in gaining freedom for 60 detained individuals.
