At 2:00 pm on Sunday Afternoon, Texas Democrats hopped on a plane and fled their state to break quorum in order to stop Republicans from stealing the 2026 midterm elections.
After Donald Trump demanded that Texas Republicans redraw their state maps to ensure Republicans would pick up 5 more congressional seats, Texas Democrats sprung into action to ensure that Trump doesn’t get his way.
These Texas Democrats are doing this at great personal sacrifice. In addition to being away from their family (and jobs) for as long as this may take, they are also being fined $500/day and will be lambasted with negative ads in their district funded by Governor Greg Abbott. If they are going to be able to hold out long enough for this to count, they’re going to need our help.
