California Donor Table and Voices for Progress Support Dave Cortese to Win SD15!

We need more progressive Democratic state legislators to pass legislation in Sacramento to protect our climate and democracy while ensuring social and economic justice. That’s why California Donor Table and Voices for Progress are supporting Dave Cortese in the 2020 primary election for State Senate District 15.

Cortese is a Santa Clara County Supervisor with over 25 years of public service in Santa Clara County, City of San Jose, East Side Union High School District, and in regional transportation. He champions a long-held progressive agenda, including criminal justice reform, housing and homelessness, LGBTQ rights, and fighting climate change, and is deeply committed to listening to and serving diverse communities in the district. Cortese is also endorsed by the California League of Conservation Voters, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta, South Bay Labor Council, Silicon Valley Democratic Club, Democratic Activist Women Now (DAWN), and many local and regional elected officials.

Cortese faces two No Party Preference candidates and two other Democrats, the most competitive of whom is a former Latinx Assemblymember with a legislative record of supporting oil and other industries at the expense of community health and safety. SD15 will have a competitive primary race, and we need to ensure that a Democrat much more aligned with our values will make it through the primary and general elections.

Please join us in supporting Dave Cortese! We hope you will give to his campaign at a level that is significant for you. $4,700 is the maximum allowable contribution per person for the primary.
