California Donor Table and Voices for Progress Support Susan Talamantes Eggman to Win SD5!

We need more progressive Democratic state legislators to pass legislation in Sacramento to protect our climate and democracy while ensuring social and economic justice, and who reflect California's gender and racial diversity. That’s why California Donor Table and Voices for Progress are supporting Susan Talamantes Eggman in the 2020 primary election for State Senate District 5.

Eggman is a lesbian Latinx current state assemblymember who has also previously served as a Stockton city councilmember, a mental health provider, a medical social worker, and as an Army medic. In her four terms as assemblymember, she has successfully championed legislation for expanded health access, immigrant rights, criminal justice reform, and gender pay equity, and has authored the landmark End of Life Option Act. Eggman is also endorsed by Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs, labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, several local city councilmembers, education officials, and many others.

Assemblymember Eggman faces two Republicans and two other Democrats, the most competitive of whom is a conservative, law-and-order Democrat whose policy positions are out of line with our values on issues of campaign finance reform, LGBTQ rights, and more, who has a massive fundraising network, and is endorsed by the current occupant of this seat, conservative Democratic State Senator Cathleen Galgiani. So far, he has fundraised over $860,000. SD5 will have a competitive primary race, and we need to ensure that a Democrat much more aligned with our values will make it through the primary and general elections.

Please join us in supporting Assemblymember Susan Talamantes Eggman! We hope you will give to her campaign at a level that is significant for you. $4,700 is the maximum allowable contribution per person for the primary.
