The late U.S. Representative Gerry Connolly was a prominent legislative champion of gun violence prevention advocacy throughout his nine terms representing Virginia's 11th congressional district.

Gerry's advocacy focused on a three-pronged legislative strategy: implementing an assault weapons ban, enacting universal background checks, and closing loopholes that allow domestic abusers to bypass the system.
