Chaos in Washington. Gridlock in City Hall. We Need Change.

Fairfax City is facing a crisis of leadership. A 3–3 tie vote killed the George Snyder Trail — wasting years of planning, tarnishing our regional reputation, risking millions in public funds, and underscoring a paralyzing pattern at City Hall. 

This isn’t an isolated incident. A series of 3–3 tie votes on the joint Willard-Sherwood Health and Community Center project alarmed Fairfax County’s Executive, who warned that repeated deadlock threatens major community investments and intergovernmental cooperation. 

Across the country, dysfunction in Washington has shown us what happens when governing breaks down. Here at home, we’re now experiencing the same paralysis: one where important projects stall, costs escalate, and residents’ needs are drowned out by gridlock.

But we have an opportunity to fix this.

Every seat on the Fairfax City Council is on the ballot this November. Change won’t happen on its own, it happens when we organize, support strong candidates, and turn out voters who demand responsible leadership.
