On Thursday, August 24,from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. join the Friends of the White River County Park atChamps Bar and Grill in Lake Geneva for a pig roast fundraiser. Come meethikers, nature lovers, and people of all ages who love historical places andthe great outdoors as we raise money to restore the prairies of therecently-purchased White River Park.
The park, located onSheridan Springs Road in the Town of Lyons, was acquired through WalworthCounty and a matching state grant in 2014. Since that time the barn roof hasbeen replaced and a picnic shelter erected. Trails are continually maintained and two bridges across the White Riverhave opened access to the southern portion of the close to 200 acres of thepark that is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
Friends of the White RiverCounty Park and the public are all welcome to attend this fundraiser. Proceedsfrom the gathering will be used to fund restoration of the prairies and fortrail signs.
