Hello,

Thanks for visiting my ActBlue page! My name is Charles "Charlie" Panfil and I am a recent GW grad running for ANC 6E02 which includes the Meridian at Mt. Vernon Triangle, Gables City Vista, and The K at City Vista communities.

I've lived in the D.C. area since 2018 and our corner of the city in Mt. Vernon has been my favorite community to live in. We are lucky to have easy access to Safeway, great restaurants, and a gym just steps away from where we live.

My hope is to use a seat on the 6E ANC as a way to advocate for equitable community development that prioritizes access, safety, small businesses & restaurants, and lower prices for residents. For me, that means:

• Supporting new businesses that want to set up shop in our neighborhood.
• Backing new community projects like protected bike lanes and better crosswalks so we can safely get to work, school, the Metro, and the grocery store.
• Asking the City to increase the number of mental health professionals available to help those in need in our community.
• Encouraging more mixed-use affordable housing that brings down the cost of rent for current and new residents.
• Incentivizing carbon-free and low-carbon forms of transportation to commute around the city.
• Ensuring that our neighborhood continues to be an inclusive community for LGBTQ+ folks and people of color.

Right now, our communities will go without representation which is why I am running as a write-in candidate as part of the LGBTQ Victory Fund's Queering DC's ANCs Initiative which got me interested in running.

Since I am running as a write-in candidate, I will not appear on the ballot and need your help to introduce myself to the community. Your donation will help fund a direct mail postcard campaign so residents can get to know me a little bit!
