On Sunday August 21st the Arizona Democratic Party, the Progressive Community, Her Family, and the world lost a dear friend, sister, daughter, and organizer. Charlie had a passion for justice, fairness, and equality. She dedicated so much of herself and so much of her passion to help those around her. One particular passion for Sarah "Charlie" was making sure new voters were empowered to make their voices heard.
She loved registering voters, she loved the state of Arizona, and she loved the idea of turning the state blue. We asked ourselves, "what would Sarah/Charlie want". We couldn't think of anything more fitting of her passion and her legacy than to help fund efforts to reach out and register those new voters. Once during the 2012 elections on the last day of voter registration Sarah "Charlie" drove three Voter Registration forms across the state of Florida late at night so they could make it to the only open board of elections office before it closed at midnight. She did this so three 18 year high school seniors would be eligible to vote. This speaks volumes about the type of person Sarah "Charlie" Terrazas was.
We ask you in her honor to make a contribution to help fund voter registration efforts so more 18 year olds can vote for the first time, because that is what Sarah "Charlie" would want and that is the legacy we hope she leave behind.
