Shutdown and what comes next

Shutdown averted. But the biggest news isn't what we won it's what Trump and MAGA lost. Trump and his allies did their damndest to paper over differences inside the House MAGA caucus, and they demanded that it give Trump and Musk more power to remake the American economy to their (and their billionaire fossil fuel backers') whims. They got neither. Instead, Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson emerged weaker, and everyone is questioning whether Trump or Musk is in charge, not to mention if the lot of them can get things done with the razor thing MAGA House majority.

This is the best possible outcome for our strategy to beat Trump, blunt the worst of what MAGA has planned in 2025, and defend our climate and clean energy transition. We survived the first Trump administration. And we'll weather Musk, DOGE, and whatever comes next —if we flock together. Chip in here to fund our policy work in 2025.
