Since 2015, I have been committed to ending gun violence, including unintentional shootings and suicide by gun, as a volunteer for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. I have spoken with folks in Massachusetts and North Carolina, mostly parents, about how we adults can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. This June 2nd I’ll be wearing orange to recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day and to honor victims of gun violence. I’m also raising money to support the work that I and thousands of others do for Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety. Ninety-three Americans are killed each day by gun violence. Will you honor each of them with action by making a donation today? Whether $9, $3, or $93, your generous contribution will support groundbreaking original research into the causes of gun violence and the means to reduce it through evidence-based policies and practices. It will also help me and other volunteers communicate this knowledge far and wide as we work together to change our culture by ending gun violence. This isn't about polical parties - it's about keeping people safe. So, rather than a dollar amount as a goal, I've set it as a personal priority to reach people, to raise awareness. 75 to start, but I'll go higher if my friends show up like I think you will. So, modest contributions matter. You matter. This matters. Let's help save lives.
