Chris Reed is running for Swain County Commissioner to build a future where our natural wonders, from the Nantahala Gorge to New Found Gap, are protected. Where every resident benefits from year-round economic strength, not just seasonal tourism.
A Cherokee High School graduate Chris went on to obtain a bachelors degree from UNC Greensboro in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Chris is a current employee at the Cherokee Fitness Complex.
Chris brings experience in non-profit management, retail, and lodging, and he’s focused on practical solutions: expanding affordable housing, increasing funding for medical care and mental health support, making quality-of-life infrastructure improvements, and fully supporting our schools in academics, the arts, and athletics. Chris believes Swain County’s government should work for everyone, and with your donation, he’ll work to make that vision a reality across our entire county — from Fontana Dam to Mingo Falls.
