Senator Angela Walton Mosley is a trailblazer in Missouri politics and a relentless advocate for seniors, children, veterans, individuals with disabilities, healthcare access, and strong public schools. Since taking office on January 6, 2021, she has served as a fearless voice for the people of Missouri’s 13th Senatorial District, making history as the first Black person elected to represent the district in the Missouri Senate.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Senator Mosley is a proud graduate of Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Grambling State University. Her educational background and lifelong commitment to service fuel her passion for ensuring every child—regardless of zip code—has access to quality public education and opportunity.

With six years of legislative experience, Senator Mosley has become a strong champion for labor unions, workers’ rights, public safety, and the dignity and well-being of seniors. She successfully passed legislation creating the Task Force on Missing and Murdered African American Women and Girls, bringing long-overdue attention and action to a crisis that has devastated families and communities across the nation.

Senator Mosley also made history alongside her husband, former State Representative Jay Mosley, as the first married couple to serve simultaneously in the Missouri Legislature. Together, they successfully passed landmark legislation allowing Missouri lottery winners to remain anonymous, protecting the privacy and safety of citizens across the state.

Senator Mosley’s leadership is rooted in service, resilience, and community engagement. She has been married to Jay Mosley for nearly 32 years and is the proud mother of three children and grandmother of two.
