A native Arkansan, from Fort Smith and now rooted in Northwest Arkansas, I have lived and worked in District 25 for over twenty years. As a single mother of 3 beautiful kids, multimedia artist, environmental educator, and certified Art Therapy Practitioner, my career has spanned indoor and outdoor classrooms from Ft. Smith and Fayetteville to the Ozark Highlands Trail, and even facility manager at Hobbs, Arkansas' largest State Park.
Today, I have taken my passion the outdoors and love of art and blended my efforts to support my family through working at the University of Arkansas and I am the founder and Executive Director of NatureSTEAM, a nonprofit bridging the gap between S.T.E.A.M. and outdoor education through art and nature integration. Additionally, I completed my degree in Studio Arts and Art History at the University of Arkansas this May, and will start my Masters in Art Education Fall 2026.
Because of this lived experience, conservation is always at the forefront of my plans. I believe we can revitalize our rural economy by nurturing our rural towns, supporting family farmers through innovation, and investing in community wellness.
Why I'm running:
I’m running for the Arkansas House of Representatives because District 25 deserves more than just survival—we deserve equal opportunities. As your representative, I will fight to protect our land, invest in our families, and ensure our rural Ozark communities have a representative who prioritizes local opportunity over special interests. It’s time to return the power and protect the rights of everyday Arkansans.
The top 3 issues brought to my attention:
(in addition to basic human rights and equality)
Why Your Contribution Matters Right Now:
• Fueling the Ground Game: Your donation directly funds the "outreach supplies," data tools, and volunteer organizing we need to reach voters in rural Washington, Crawford, and Franklin counties.
• Proving Viability: As a challenger facing an incumbent, strong early fundraising proves that a grassroots campaign centered on people—not special interests—can compete and win.
Please chip in today to help us register voters, knock on doors, and grow a better tomorrow for Arkansas.
With gratitude,
Courtney King
