About Katharine

Katharine is the current Santa Fe County Clerk, focused on modernizing our election process since taking office in 2021. She has led her staff in improving the voter experience and in making the County Clerk’s office user friendly for everyone.

Under Katherine’s guidance, Santa Fe County is the only county in New Mexico to win a national Clearie award, given by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission for best practices in election administration. 

A former small business owner and IT consultant, Katharine brings to office extensive experience in building effective teams, managing a diverse workforce and the technical expertise vital to leading a twenty-first century operation. As a previous campaign manager, her skill at successfully managing 200+ people demonstrates her strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

In addition, Katharine has served as committee secretary and committee analyst in New Mexico’s State Legislature, as well as in several elected positions in the Democratic Party.
