Climate Hawks for Jennifer McClellan

Rep. McEachin cannot be replaced, but his seat in Congress must be filled. The governor has called a special election for Feb. 21. Democrats held a contested primary on very short notice, and state legislator Jennifer McClellan won.

Jennifer McClellan has a strong climate justice record in the Virginia state legislature. Her leadership in the State Senate helped pass Virginia’s Clean Economy Act, and the Solar Freedom Act. She wrote and passed a bill to protect Virginia waterways from interstate pipeline projects.

Jenn also understands that voting rights matter – she wrote Virginia’s Voting Rights Act, modeled after the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. She’s worked to expand absentee voting in her state
