Climate Hawks Vote is endorsing Adelita Grijalva for Arizona’s Seventh Congressional District.
Adelita is currently elected to the Pima County Board of Supervisors, District 5 whose territory includes downtown Tucson and western mountains. She’s also the daughter of Raul Grijalva. As a county supervisor, she has focused on water resiliency and protecting parkland. She’s the only candidate in the race who has signed the No Fossil Fuel Money pledge.
Adelita’s long list of endorsements include Sens. Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, former members of Congress Ron Barber, Gabby Giffords, and Ann Kirkpatrick, Tucson mayor Regina Romero, six Tucson city council members, local Native leaders, state legislators, and more. Equally important, she was the near-unanimous choice of grassroots in-district climate hawks who responded to our survey last week.
The primary is July 15 and it’s extremely likely that whichever Democrat wins the primary then easily wins the general election. Adelita will need the support of grassroots climate hawks throughout the nation.
