Here’s some Senate math. In the 53R-47D Senate, Democrats need to flip at least four seats in order to control the chamber, stop JD Vance from breaking ties, and most importantly stop Trump’s agenda. No more Susan Collins being concerned, Lisa Murkowski pretending to be a moderate, or Thom Tillis threatening independence until he caves. No more spineless John Cornyn whining that “there’s nothing we can do to rein in the president.” We could endorse four… or we could recognize that the Senate is hard, and endorse more than four.
Actually, John, there is something we can do – elect independent-minded Democrats who can assert their power as a co-equal branch of government. Here’s our seven to save the Senate.
Sherrod Brown, a champion for the working class, knows how the Senate works.
Roy Cooper is going to flip North Carolina, one of the two true toss-up states.
Abdul El Sayed just defeated the Establishment, and now dark money is coming for him in Michigan.
Troy Jackson, a fifth-generation logger in Maine, the other true toss-up state, has Susan Collins very, very concerned.
Mary Peltola is pro-fish just like the bald eagles and ospreys who call Alaska home.
James Talarico is exciting Texans, scaring corrupt Ken Paxton, and making Ted Cruz cry.
Josh Turek will fight for Iowa’s wind and water.
