Senator Michael Bennet has been a U.S. Senator from Colorado since 2009 when he was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Ken Salazar who became Secretary of the Interior.

Backed by Council for a Livable World, Bennet was elected in 2010 by a margin of 1.7%, and was reelected in 2016 with a wider margin of 50-44%.

Today he serves on the Senate Intelligence and Finance committees and has been a strong proponent of finding diplomatic solutions to many of the serious foreign policy questions still dogging the United States today.

Additionally, Bennet’s Child Tax Credit was signed into law this spring, and his proposal to make the largest federal investment in broadband in American history was included in the bipartisan infrastructure bill. Both will help American families and workers compete in the 21st century global economy.

While President Biden beat Trump in Colorado in 2020 by a margin of 55-42%, Colorado swings right in non-Presidential elections, which cost Democrats a U.S. Senate seat the last time an incumbent was up for re-election in a midterm. Bennet is taking nothing for granted.
