Donate to Council for a Livable World and Joe Biden for President

For the first time in our 58-year history, the Council for a Livable World has broken with precedent and made its first Presidential endorsement. The stakes have never been higher, and our issues have never been more important. As the world marks the 75th anniversary of the nuclear age, we are also poised the the edge of a new nuclear arms race.

There is only one person running for President who can bring us back from the brink and guide us down a path toward eliminating nuclear weapons once and for all. We are proud to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for President in 2020.

Over the course of his Senate career, Vice President Biden was a champion of common-sense nuclear arms control and non-proliferation. He fought to support cuts to the dangerously bloated arsenals of the Cold War. He stood against the reckless abrogation of treaties from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty to the Open Skies Treaty. He spoke out against endless wars without a clear mandate from the public. He is an advocate for the permanent end to explosive nuclear testing. Most importantly, he understands that the only way to eliminate all nuclear threats is through a practical and persistent plan to eliminate all nuclear weapons.

Vice President Biden has the discipline, patience and expertise to repair and rebuild America’s standing in the world, including its rightful place as a leader in nuclear threat reduction. We are proud to endorse him for President.
