As a United States Senator and member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, Senator Bob Casey humbly takes the responsibility of protecting Americans from foreign threats and safeguarding our country's national security with the seriousness it deserves. Senator Casey has long believed that the best way to promote national security and global stability is through robust investments in national security coupled with equally substantial reliance on diplomacy and deterrence. This means working with allies, relying on bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, and supporting robust foreign assistance.
Senator Casey advocates for taking a global leadership role and working with allies to address our biggest national security challenges, including countering Russia and Iran’s aggression, competing with China, and combating climate change. He has consistently supported the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) to keep Russia’s nuclear arsenal in check and prevent a dangerous nuclear arms race, and voted to support the Iran nuclear deal to prevent Iran from ever having the means to acquire or develop a nuclear weapon.
Senator Casey also believes that factors such as climate change and food insecurity contribute to global unrest and radicalism. He supports long-term investments in food security and in global climate assistance and climate change mitigation as key parts of a national security and global stability strategy.
Senator Casey’s long record of delivering on his solemn promise to keep Americans safe with a thoughtful and robust national security strategy is just one of the many reasons why Pennsylvanians continue to trust him to have their backs.
