Council for a Livable World

Donate to Council for a Livable World and 3 close Senate races

Senators who have staked their reputations on their close relationships with President Donald Trump and his dangerous policies are hurting at the polls. This is great for our endorsed Senate candidates.

In North Carolina, Cal Cunningham (D) started the race as a major underdog with a tough primary challenge, but is now considered a toss-up against incumbent Sen. Thom Tillis (R).

In Colorado, former governor John Hickenlooper (D) outraised incumbent Sen. Cory Gardner (R) for the second quarter in a row and has opened up a substantial lead.

South Carolina's Lindsey Graham (R) was once one of Trump's harshest critics but is now his greatest disciple, and South Carolina voters are paying attention. Jaime Harrison (D) is gaining support from former Graham supporters, and is narrowing his deficit with the incumbent.

2018 was a banner year for progressives in the House, and that momentum is carrying over to the Senate this year. The result could be a Senate that overturns Trump's nuclear weapons policies, blocks new wars and revives nuclear treaties.
