Rep. Angie Craig won an upset victory in 2018 over former conservative talk show host Jason Lewis with 53% of the vote. She became the first Democrat to represent the 2nd district since 2003. She was reelected in 2020 with a narrower margin, 48.2% – 46%.

She was the first woman to be elected from this district and the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from Minnesota.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Craig worked at St. Jude Medical from 2005 through 2017, most recently as head of Global Human Resources.

This year, her most likely opponent is Tyler Kistner, who ran two years ago and who served nine years in the Marine Corps before announcing for Congress.

Rep. Craig currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce, Agriculture, and Small Business committees.

She has been a strong advocate on our issues, voting to repeal the 2001 and 2002 AUMFs, support a war powers resolution aimed at preventing a new war with Iran, and to stop the deployment of President Trump’s dangerous new nuclear weapon.
