Rep. Angie Craig won an upset victory in 2018 over former conservative talk show host Jason Lewis with 53% of the vote. She became the first Democrat to represent the district since 2003. Council for a Livable World has been proud to endorse her in each of her races so far. Most recently, she won reelection in 2022 51-46%.


Craig was the first woman to be elected from this district and the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from Minnesota. 


Prior to being elected to Congress, Craig worked at St. Jude Medical from 2005 through 2017, most recently as head of Global Human Resources. She already has two GOP challengers for her seat in 2024.


Rep. Craig currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce and Agriculture committees.


She has been a strong advocate on our issues, voting to repeal the 2001 and 2002 AUMFs and to support a war powers resolution aimed at preventing a new war with Iran.
