Donate to Josh Harder's campaign and Council for a Livable World

Josh Harder was first elected in 2018 by defeating an incumbent Republican 52-48% in an upset. He was previously endorsed by Council for a Livable World in 2018 and 2020. His district is based in the Central Valley of California, where he was born and raised.

Harder graduated from Stanford University with degrees in political science and economics, as well as a joint MBA/MPP from Harvard Business School and Kennedy School of Government. Prior to entering Congress, he was a venture capitalist and educator.

In the House, he serves on the House Appropriations Committee on the Interior and Environment and Labor-HHS-Education Subcommittees. He is also a member of the centrist Problem Solvers Caucus that often seeks bipartisan solutions.

In 2022, Rep. Harder voted to support funding for the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization Preparatory Commission and also voted against moving forward with the new Sentinel ICBM.
