We have to pay close attention to swing states like Minnesota in hopes of keeping it in progressive hands. Hillary Clinton narrowly won the state in 2016, but it is a top target for President Trump and his fellow hawks.
Three of our endorsees in Minnesota need your help to fight off the millions of dollars hawks are spending to flip this state red.
In November 2018, Sen. Tina Smith (D) won a special election after being appointed in January 2018. This year, Republicans have settled on provocative former Rep. Jason Lewis, a former shock-jock known for his anti-woman and anti-gay rants. Smith is favored to win.
Dan Feehan (D-MN-01) is running in a rural district he lost by only 1,315 votes in 2018. Feehan is a decorated Army veteran who also served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Readiness) in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness). The incumbent, Rep. Jim Hagedorn, is a slight favorite.
Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN-02) was the first woman to be elected from this district and the first openly gay person elected to Congress from Minnesota. Craig is a classic success story, having been raised by a single mom and grown up in a mobile home park. She worked two jobs to put herself through college. Craig is favored to win.
Please consider supporting one or all of our endorsees in this state so critical to a progressive Congress!
Please consider splitting a donation between Council for a Livable World and these candidates! We have never needed your voice and advocacy more. Thank you for your support! And remember, your first $5 donation to the Council begins or renews your membership for one year.
