New England is the scene of some of the hottest Senate and House races this cycle, and none is hotter than the chance to retire Sen. Susan Collins (R) after four terms in office.
Collins undercut her bipartisan appeal when she voted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, refused to convict President Trump and then avowed that Trump would be better behaved after impeachment. We know how that turned out!
Please consider a contribution to Collins' challenger, Sara Gideon, the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, and a strong advocate of nuclear arms control agreements. Gideon is now running even in the polls and fundraising with the incumbent.
Other hot New England races:
Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME-02) won one of the closest House races in the country in 2018 with the results not determined until the week after the election. Golden, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, opposes Trump’s new nuclear weapons.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) is a history maker: she is the first woman in U.S. history to serve as Governor and U.S. Senator and also is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. She has been a strong advocate for extending the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.
Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH-01) won this open seat in 2018 that has flipped back and forth between Republicans and Democrats. He is determined to be the first Representative from the district in years to win re-election. He urges the United States to use diplomacy and international institutions to confront the rise of authoritarian governments.
