Council for a Livable World

Donate to Council for a Livable World and three Senate candidates who can help flip the Senate

The potential for flipping the Senate from red to blue has increased dramatically in the last three months.

You can boost the momentum by contributing to the outstanding Senate candidates listed below in the next four days before the crucial June 30 Federal Election Commission fundraising deadline.

If we are successful, no longer will progressive national security bills and amendments be buried before they ever see a single vote. Our newest endorsed candidates can help make this happen — and support smart nuclear arms control and disarmament policies as soon as they arrive.

Theresa Greenfield, Democrat from Iowa, recently won a strong primary victory, and polls show her neck-and-neck with Sen. Joni Ernst. Iowa is a purple state that continues to elect both Democrats and Republicans; the state voted for Obama and Trump, Gore and Bush. But Greenfield has to catch up to Ernst’s fundraising; the incumbent has raised almost twice as much.

Barbara Bollier, Democrat from Kansas, a state Senator and retired physician, is likely to face Kris Kobach, the most prominent purveyor of the falsehood about illegal voting in previous elections. Polls show the candidates dead even. Kansas elected a Democratic governor in 2018 and can elect Bollier this year.

Jon Ossoff, Democrat from Georgia, astonished observers by winning a recent primary without a runoff. He served as a national security aide on Capitol Hill and lost a close House race in 2017 — we know he can oust a Senate incumbent with ethics problems in a state that is shifting left. He will be a great addition to the Senate.

With four days to go before a critical June 30 deadline and four months before the November election, these Senate candidates need a fundraising boost to propel them to victory.
