Three Senate candidates endorsed by Council for a Livable World have had their chances of victory upgraded by professional race-watchers:


Mark Kelly – Arizona: Kelly, the former astronaut has been moved from "toss up" to "lean Democratic." He is ahead in the polls and fundraising and is a high-quality candidate. 


Theresa Greenfield – Iowa: Greenfield, an urban planner who has also worked in real estate and development, started the contest as a distinct underdog, but the race is now considered a "toss up."


Jon Ossoff – Georgia: Ossoff had to overcome a difficult and expensive primary and a tough environment in Georgia, and his race has moved from "lean Republican" to "toss up."


If these candidates and other progressives flip seats filled by hawks, Mitch McConnell will be ousted as Majority Leader and the new Senate can be expected to support the extension of the New START agreement, block new nuclear warheads and eliminate money for a resumption of nuclear weapons testing. You can continue to play your part by contributing generously to these wining candidates.
