Rep. Eugene Vindman is a 25-year Army veteran who served as an infantry officer, paratrooper and U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generals (JAG) Corps. As a JAG, Vindman served as an international law advisor in Iraq; as the senior prosecutor in the busiest jurisdiction in the Army; and as a White House National Security Council (NSC) deputy legal advisor.

Rep. Vindman currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and is the only Virginian on the Agriculture Committee. Through his work on HASC, Rep. Vindman regularly criticizes the Trump administration and the Pentagon under Secretary Hegseth, including on the operational security risks presented in the "Signalgate" scandal.

During this year's defense authorization markup, Rep. Vindman supported multiple amendments in line with the Council's views, an encouraging sign for a first-term Member. He specifically led three efforts that passed in the NDAA: one that bolsters quality education by making DoDEA classrooms phone-free, another that guarantees children of reservists can attend DoDEA schools when their parents are serving their country, and one that protects Virginia's federal workers.

He won his seat in 2024 with Council support and is running for reelection in one of the most competitive frontline districts in the country.

Rep. Vindman fled Soviet Ukraine at a young age and his family made New York their home. Before Congress, Rep. Vindman also served on the National Security Council (NSC) during the first Trump administration where he was instrumental in reporting President Trump's infamous call with President Zelenskyy that led to President Trump's first impeachment.

Rep. Vindman is likely to face state Senator Tara Durant who has an abysmal voting record on issues affecting military families and service members. Rep. Vindman remains committed to delivering for our veterans, military families and active duty personnel.
