Session Kickoff For Cory McCray

Dear Friend,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing you today about my obligation to represent the residents who live in the 45th Legislative District as a State Delegate in the Maryland General Assembly and about how we, together, can ensure those residents receive the representation they deserve.

On November 4, 2014, we received over 17,000 votes and secured one of the seats in the House of Delegates charged with representing the 45th Legislative District. This happened because friends and neighbors joined together as a team to communicate our message effectively to the voters. Our common voice shared our vision of new ideas, new leadership, and real results. That was a great victory and it will never be forgotten. But the real work has begun.

Our plan has always been to run a robust organizing effort to engage new ideas with new energy to get real results. Just this year we worked with the legislature to restore voting rights to 40,000 Marylanders, to strengthen apprenticeships, and to expand transportation options. Just this year we helped to build critical infrastructure to elect several new City Councilmembers and to retain some of our most promising members. Just this year we worked with the community to create a new vehicle for students in the 45th Legislative District to seek and afford higher education.

Those are just some of the initiatives that we have worked on this year, but with two years left – we are just getting started. Help us continue to build on our momentum, in support of our new ideas, our new leadership, and our real results.
