Being born and raised in Richmond, California the home of the Chevron Refinery and witnessing first hand the many fires and accidents at the Chevron Refinery over my 40+ years of living here has led me to become a food, social, environmental and climate justice activist. I believe we are at a critical moment in the Climate Movement where fence line communities like Richmond could lead the way by piloting new policies and initiatives meant to set a powerful example and help move the country more concerted towards the Just Transition we need.
After being elected in November 2022 to represent the community I was born and raised in, District 3 in Richmond California, I immediately learned that there is little to no support for elected officials after you enter office.
In order to continue to communicate with residents between election seasons through email, canvassing and community meetings I need modest ongoing financial support to pay for website hosting fees, email client subscriptions, graphic design and printing, and venue rental, community meeting childcare and translation services.
Winning my election was only the first step, now I’d be honored to have your support as I endeavor to deeply serve my community.
