Coloradans For Real Safety Solutions

Fight Back Against Prop 132

The fentanyl and opioid epidemic impacts thousands of Coloradans every year. We need real solutions supported by experts like doctors and public safety professionals. But the deceptive, billionaire backed Prop 132 will only make this crisis worse.

Prop 132 won't help the drug crisis. The extreme penalties in Prop 132 will cost more lives and cost Colorado taxpayers at least $433 million to make private prison corporations richer. That means Colorado families will be stuck with the bill through cuts to schools, healthcare, public transit, and other essential services, or higher taxes.

Prop 132 does not go after major drug traffickers, and instead increases penalties on low-level drug users and sharers. Prop 132 makes no distinction between a major drug trafficker and a teenager sharing a pill with a friend – subjecting both to the same mandatory minimum 8 - 32 year prison sentence.
