Dejuana Bigelow is a North Carolinia native and long-time resident of Burlington. Dejuana is a healthcare professional, wife, and proud mother of two small children. Now she is running for a seat on the Burlington City Council. Dejuana would be the first African-American woman elected to Burlington's City Council. She brings a vital perspective that is committed to making sure ALL of Burlington is represented in important decisions about the city's future.
Dejuana co-chairs Burlington's Community Policy Advisory Team, and community safety for all of Burlington is a passion of hers. Dejuana is also focused on making sure economic growth and job creation reach all corners of Burlington. She is committed to a transparent process on cleaning up Burlington's drinking water that has some of the highest levels of PFAS contamination in the state. Dejuana is committed to real solutions for housing affordability and supporting local public schools to make sure they are safe for all students and educators.
