I began grassroots organizing when I was 11 years old and spoke up at a school board meeting. I remember walking into the Kalamazoo democratic office in 1996 when I turned 18 to volunteer. I found my home at the St. Joe Democratic headquarters in 2000 and remain a loyal volunteer. I have always believed in grassroots organizing and the power of the citizens in our community.
