Rev. Robert Jones has been on the on the frontline for justice. His commitment to education led him to serve on the Local School Council at Dunbar High School, spoke against and took arrests against the racist CPS school closures of the Rahm Administration, and put his body on the line to save Dyett High School as a 34-day hunger striker until the City and Chicago Public Schools reopened Dyett High School an action that was historic.


Rev. Robert Jones worked to bring about the first elected public School Board in the city of Chicago and is active with the Sustainable Public Schools  model, working closely with Drake School, has stood spoke and took arrests with many organizations to support Rent Control Legislation, affordable housing and prevent evictions during the Pandemic; stood with and spoke for the leadership and members of SEIU 73 and SEIU IL/IN for the airport workers at Ohare, the “Fight for 15”, as well as better working conditions, protective equipment, and pay for the nurses and workers during the Pandemic. He has stood for equity in education, safety and safe working conditions in all of our schools, for the citizens of Chicago, and those who are now in the 10th District. It will be no different for him serving the people on the elected School Board
