Shomari Figures is the Democratic Nominee in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, the newly created seat established following a historic Supreme Court decision to give greater representation to Black voters in Alabama. This seat is a critical Red to Blue pick-up opportunity in the fight to take back the House. He’ll need all the help he can get to defeat his self-funding, far-right, millionaire opponent and ensure we win this seat in November.
Shomari learned the value of public service from his parents, who devoted their lives to advancing the rights of women and Black people in Alabama.
Shomari served as a member of both the Obama and Biden Administrations, helping implement policies and legislation like the Affordable Care Act, which ensured thousands of people in Alabama had access to affordable healthcare.
