Wendy Luzon has called Lawrence home for over 25 years, immersing herself in the community and becoming a respected leader and business owner. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Wendy immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager, seeking a better life for herself and her two younger sisters.
Lawrence is where Wendy and her husband Raul raised their three children and two granddaughters, instilling in them the values of hard work, community service, and faith. As a business owner of “Casabe Fruit Store & Delicatessen” and “El Caldero Restaurant”, Wendy is committed to supporting the local economy and providing job opportunities for Lawrence residents.
Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Wendy has been a driving force in advancing social justice in the community. She co-founded Delamano, an organization that strives to eliminate domestic violence in the Greater Lawrence area and Festival de Teatro, an annual theatre festival aimed at preserving the arts within our community. She is the current President of La Federacion Hispana de Comerciantes, a Chamber of Commerce that supports small businesses in Lawrence.
Wendy serves as Neighborhood Planner for the City of Lawrence for seven years, gaining firsthand experience in community development and engagement that uniquely positions her to address the needs of the community and work collaboratively with city officials.
Wendy’s passion for her community and neighbors is what motivated her to run as your City Councilor for District B. In this role, she will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that Lawrence progresses and develops for all residents, regardless of their background or circumstance.
With Wendy Luzon, Lawrence residents can trust that their voices will be heard, and their needs will be prioritized.
