Cynthia serves as chairperson of (and precinct committeeperson on) the Richland County Democratic Central Committee as well as a member of the Richland County Board in rural southeastern Illinois. She is the only female and only Democrat on her 7-member county board. She serves as the chair of the public safety committee and also sits on the health, economic development, labor, 911, and tech committees.
