We won the primary. Now we finish the fight.
On June 2nd, the voters of Doña Ana County Commission District 1 chose community-centered leadership over corporate interests. That victory belonged to every person who knocked on a door, made a call, shared a post, and believed that local government could be better than it has been.
Now we are in the general election and stakes are higher.
The Republican opponent is a well-funded water attorney with family connections in this county. This race will be decided by who has the resources to reach every voter in District 1 between now and November 3rd.
That is why we need you on September 25th.
What is at stake in this race is not abstract.
Project Jupiter's data centers and methane gas power plants are still under construction in Santa Teresa consuming our desert water supply, threatening our air quality, and proceeding without the independent environmental review or community accountability that a project of this magnitude demands. More than 300 Doña Ana County residents pressed state lawmakers about this project just weeks ago. The community is organized. The question is whether the right person is at the commission when the next decision gets made.
Water security, healthcare access, government accountability, and the basic right of every resident to have a real voice in decisions that affect their lives, these are the issues that brought us to this moment. They are the issues that will define this county's future.
I am not a career politician. I am a working-class Latina, a single mother, a community organizer, and an economist who has spent more than two decades fighting for the families that county government has too often forgotten. When I stood up against Project Jupiter, my employer decided that I could only keep my paycheck by turning my back on the community I have been serving for decades, there was no question about how I would continue to show up with and for community.
I won the primary campaign with a shoestring budget and a handful of volunteers by knocking on over 2,000 doors. And I am asking you now to help us carry that momentum all the way to November 3rd.
Join us on September 25th for an intimate evening with Daisy, to hear directly about the campaign, ask questions, and be part of building the grassroots operation we need to win this general election.
Can't make it in person? You can still be part of this moment by contributing today.
Every dollar raised goes directly to voter contact, canvassing, phone banking, and direct mail that wins close elections.
