Danny Galpern's Fundraiser for IfNotNow

Goal thermometer

For the past year I’ve been a member of IfNotNow. IfNotNow is a progressive movement of young American Jews that works to end our community’s support for the occupation.

IfNotNow is grounded in the belief that the liberation of Jews is bound up with all groups targeted by oppression, both in this country and in Israel and Palestine. We have trained and mobilized thousands of people in protests against anti-Semitism in the White House, desecration of Jewish cemeteries, and oppressive policies towards Palestinians.

Trump's terrifying decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem makes life more dangerous for both Israelis and Palestinians. 8 people have already been killed at protests and hundreds have been injured. The embassy move breaks with 70 years of U.S. policy and makes the two-state solution even more difficult to achieve.

While surveys found that 80% of Jews in the U.S. oppose moving the embassy to Jerusalem, pretty much every mainstream U.S. Jewish institution publicly supported Trump's dangerous decision. When our institutions claim to represent us but offer Trump political cover for oppressive policies, there is a moral crisis at hand - and an opportunity for change.

We want to train hundreds more people as members of IfNotNow, bring thousands more into the streets, and make the connection in our community between the moral bankruptcy of our institutions and the pro-Israel-at-any-cost politics that reigns in the American Jewish establishment.

But we need your support to do it! I appreciate any amount you can give to support the work of IfNotNow.
