David Weinstein for Cambridge School Committee

As a parent and a community member I'm proud of the Cambridge Public Schools – but not satisfied.

We need someone on the School Committee who is in the thick of it as a Cambridge Public Schools parent and who has my on-the-ground experience as a full-time classroom teacher — a critical level of understanding when deciding and implementing policy.

I bring these important perspectives together with communications expertise, and an understanding of education policy and of what is happening in the classrooms in our schools in Cambridge.

The Cambridge Public Schools can and should be a model of equity and excellence for the country. We do so much so well, and must do better. As a member of the school committee I have worked collaboratively with our teachers, administrators, fellow school committee members, city councilors, students and families to ensure that every child has the support they need to explore and achieve their fullest potential.
