We need leaders who represent us at every level of government.
Your District Leader is the person you’re most likely to interact with -- at the grocery store, the coffeeshop, the playground.
And did you know, our current District Leader for the “Democratic” Party is anti-abortion and opposes gay rights?
Our friend Dawn Siff is running to represent our community and our values. Dawn has been organizing in Queens for the past decade. She organizes candidate debates, forums, vigils and marches in support of women's rights, immigration and racial justice. She founded a babysitting co-op to give exhausted parents some relief -- it's been going strong for a decade and has inspired spin-off groups in Queens and Brooklyn. She started two local chapters of The Buy Nothing Project, to help cut back on environmental waste and foster community.
Dawn is always looking for creative ways to improve our neighborhood and get other people to get involved.
Her run is part a movement, a group of reformers from across Queens, who are working to make our party more progressive and transparent. We can’t do this alone, we need your help.
While District Leader is a volunteer position, Dawn is running to represent a population larger than South Bend, Indiana. Your donations will help us pay for campaign software, the literature that we hand out and mail -- and will help us get out the vote in June.
