In the heart of Washington, D.C., we’re transforming a high-visibility mural wall into a bold new monument to people power.
In collaboration with political artist and veteran Essam Attia, this large-scale public artwork will bring FDR’s urgent reminder to the streets: “The ultimate rulers of our democracy…are the voters of this country.”
This isn’t just a mural—it’s a visual call to reclaim local power. At a time when democracy feels distant, this piece pulls it back into public view, reminding us that real change starts down ballot, in school boards, city councils, and local organizing.
Backed by the Local Democracy Project, this work sits at the intersection of civic action and creative resistance—igniting conversation, inspiring engagement, and anchoring a movement that builds from the ground up.
