DeDreana Freeman has spent the last 20 years committed to the health, safety, and well-being of children and families. Over the past eight years on the Durham City Council, she has been a bold and consistent advocate for justice that works every day to advance social, economic, and environmental equity. Her record reflects principled leadership, grounded in lived experience and a deep commitment to building a more inclusive future for North Carolina.

DeDreana holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University and brings the perspective of both a small business owner and a longtime community organizer. She has helped build people-powered movements rooted in humanity, fairness, and shared responsibility.
