The Democratic Party of DeKalb County (GA)

DeKalb Dems LGBTQ+ Caucus

We are the LGBTQ+ Community's preeminent source for civic engagement in DeKalb County.

Our caucus relies on individual donations to fund our work.

  • We educate and inform voters and get out the vote to elect Democrats who support our values.
  • We are the voice of the community and advocate for equality and safety for the LGBTQ+ community at municipal, county, and state levels of government.
  • We develop and maintain a scorecard to evaluate elected officials in DeKalb County based on their positions regarding LGBTQ+ issues. This scorecard provides an overview of where each official stands, offering valuable insights for community members interested in advocacy and accountability.
  • We create a comprehensive Voter Guide for the 2026 midterm election with key dates, civics review, and contact information for Democrat candidates for US Senator, Gubernatorial, State Executives, State Senators and Representatives, County Commissioners, and County Judicial.
  • Our team is highly visible at Atlanta Pride (a weekend crowd of 350,000) where we engage with voters on the weekend before early voting begins for the November General Election. Our mission there is to inform and make sure voters know where to vote with confidence and what documents they may need to take with them.

DeKalb County has the largest concentration of LGBTQ+ households in the State of Georgia!

YOU can make a difference with a donation in any amount. A $5 or $10 recurring donation helps to make it affordable.

The DeKalb Dems LGBTQ+ Caucus serves as a resource for DeKalb County Democratic Committee members and the public on LGBTQ+ issues at the local level. The LGBTQ+ Caucus works toward the extension of equal rights, the repeal of discriminatory laws, the elimination of hate-motivated violence, and the improved health and well-being for all regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
